BLACKIE GETS RELIEVED We believe that it is only fitting and proper that somewhere in this book we mention the fact that Blackie was released from the naval service during the ship's stay in Formosa, after successfully completing a year's tour of duty aboard the USS Mispillion . He proved himself such a good dog' that two of us were sent to relieve him. Of course, you can see by the pic- tures that we are so small that it takes two of us. Our first swim call brought out a new fashion of swim-suit-and such a variety of styles, both legiti- mate and improvised . . .
