rl xv' Class H lsiory ln a few weeks the class of I923 will be ushered out of Mrshrcot High School through graduation to make room for the rncomrng class next beptember It rs therefore well that we look back a few years to see who we are how we came and what we haxe done he class of l923 rs not the argest class to hrxc bccn gradurtcd from tie Mrshrcot High School We number eighteen but rt r gr xtrfxrng to notr thrt we hay lost less classmates by the dropping out route thrn forrnmr cl rs e The morning of Septemoer 3 l9l9 found twenty twc of us cornrng from the four drrectrons to the Mrshrcot Hrgh School Among the gather d crowd were new and cour ageous faces which were destined to make a history during ther stay here The first few days we gazed proudly at our fellow Seniors rndustrrous and actrye Bat soon we too set forth wrth a determination and wrth an arm to rchrexe success We began to enter rnto all the phases of school lrfe and gained promrnenc as r clr s that class of l9Z3 was from all former and all later Freshman classes Th re was not one of us who would stand around the halls wrth that lost and frightened look which we as senrors have had occasion to observe rn other Freshmen classes It was during our freshmen vear that the Home Project Club came rnto being and ten members of our class became active members of thrs organization and aided rt by actually preparing a project On October 26 l9l9 we were treated fo the first trme to a high school social function grven rn our honor by the condescending unrors Probably the unrors wanted to see whether or not we were really Fr e s h m e n but found us good mixers and holding well our own rn their company On entering our second year we found nearly eye y on th re 1 year old r some taller none smaller some thrnner and a few yery few a little fatt r Lpon taking roll call we found that Herman Eckardt Carl Eslrnger and Lester Stueck were mrssrng They did not report for classes but Richard Stangel Joined us from Manitowoc High School and remained wrth us till the end to graduate We started thrs year wrth the same ambrtron and determination as marked our frrst year b.rt no wrth qurre as much assurance as the year before Some of our lofty ideas and seeming rmoortance appeared to have vanished On October 30 of thrs year the unrors were guests of honor at a Hallowe en party grven by our class Witches fortune tellrng and other Hallowe en gam s kept those present rn a contrnuous uproar of laughter and the Hallowe en ey ent has been repeated annually eyer srnce Our class met agarn at a party on St Patrick s Day gryen by the Girls Good Luck Society Needless to say that all the boys who were guests at thrs party thought they surely were rn Good Luck Lnder the drre tron of Mrs Howell a Christmas Operetta was gryen at the Mrshrcot Opera House The operetta was a decrded succes the Sophomores taking a large share and promrnent part rn thrs production During thrs year an oratorrcal contest was held I rw.
