ine Arts Representatives Reach for Goals I feel self-discipline, natural ability, dedica- tion and the superb rewards a person receives from theatre are what have kept me involved in the drama program here at Magic City. A person can't re- ly solely on ability but also must have good in- structors and a strong desire to work for his goals. Only then would a person have the satisfaction of knowing he has done his best. Daren Goodman I feel excelling in the Fine Arts is an expres- sion of yourself, whether it is in a piece of work, a song or a theatre production. I feel that I put all of myself into my work, so I get that much more out of it. Concentration and determination real- ly does pay off. Kristy Dippong l I feel whether it be music or theatre or any other art form you must have a certain amount of love and self- discipline for what you are doing. Inspiration and education are very important, and I feel the MCC Fine Arts staff has touched me and I have grown and learn- ed something from each one throughout my high school years. Kila Krebsbach Success in debate and speech is primarily the result of hard work and confidence in one's ability. That confidence is fostered by the en- couragement of teachers generally, and my advisors in forensics specifically. I think that the support of my parents is the most im- portant factor con- tributing to my success. John Kelly

Students Define Leadership Qualitie .E i l 2 Leadership is a quali- ty which grows and becomes more refined through time and ex- perience. The characteristics that make up a good leader are not born within him but rather, develop through the years. ln order to lead well, one must learn self- discipline, organization, responsibility, and above all, have a desire to work for whatever he wishes to attain or accomplish. Julie Chu Courage is an impor- tant part of leadership. lt is a brave person who will state his position. A good leader goes in the best direction regardless of the direc- tion of the grain. He does this knowing it may draw criticism. The honor of leader- ship is not in prestige or recognition, but in leading well and doing a good job. Matt Coolidge I feel leadership is a special quality that everyone has within himself. A person just has to utilize that quali- ty. To excel at becom- ing a leader, one must be strong willed and very determined, but one of the most impor- tant things to take into consideration is what others believe in. A leader is one who understands the feel- ings of others and weighs the value of them in the final decision. Eric Svare ml-I -..-...J I feel leadership is a quality everybody can have if they have enough love for what they are doing. The qualities of a leader are developed through the years by supportive teachers, family, and other students. Self- discipline, enthusiasm, sensitivity, and ability to delegate responsibili- ty make being a leader something anyone can achieve. Becky Brooks

Vocational Representatives Praise C sri Through vocational classes I have been able to explore several career possibilities. I feel I will always be able to use the knowledge I gained through these classes whether at college or otherwise. Also voca- tional classes have helped me gain more confidence in myself. Paulette Larson lp I feel that Occupa- tional Health has helped me to decide about a career in health. As State secretary and the treasurer in my voca- tional class of VICA at- tended the national convention in Colum- bus, Nebraska which gave me the opportuni- ty todiscover what VICA is all about. It was an experience that I will never forget, and an honor that I am glad to have received. Willette Moe I feel vocational classes give exposure to what their occupa- tions are really like. Vocational classes also give students con- fidence in their work. Dave Boe ri an x. hw I feel the Vocational Education classes I have taken at Minot High School have given me an excellent background in prepar- ing for the future. The classes have given me a lot of experience I could not get in my regular class. Leon Scherr
