Academic Representatives Work for High GPF f I . tk K 1' A good attitude towards learning and a willingness to accept responsibility has given me the ability to do well in school. And this, as well as help from teachers and other peo- ple along the way, has given me academic suc- cess in my four years at Minot High. Mike Sheldon C Selection was based on GPA as of Jan. 1, 1983. I think academic suc- cess is probably due more to hard work than to innate ability. Although ability cer- tainly does help and can even make up for a lack of hard work for some people, success usually is not gained without at least a fair amount of work. Joyce Berkey I feel everyone is born with the ability to be smart. The way they are motivated by 'their family and friends determines their in- tellectuality. My father and mother gave me the incentive to get good grades. I feel that hard work is a major part, too. I think that because of my family's help and my hard work I was able to become a representative and now it all seems worth it. Mike Hulet l think enthusiasm plays a big part in get- ting good grades. If a person wants to learn and puts in a little hard work, he should suc- ceed. I've been lucky enough to have had a lot of good teachers that have made their classes fun as well as educational and parents who have shown me how impor- tant a good education is Karen Carlson

.wir One of the qualities I for in a friend is loyal- A friend is one who will tick up for you when the imes are rough. Trust is nother important quality. friend is one you can tell omething to and not ex- ect everyone else to find ut about it. Openness is nother thing to look for in friend. One who is honest with you. Pete Stenberg erall Representatives Define Friendship --' cfiflli MAQK, C,l'l'Y I,-Xl I9 Hfiflii' u- sn 1-- W LI U 5 I , 4 I I feel the most impor- tant qualities in a friend are honesty and loyali- ty. A person has to be honest with themselves before they can be honest with others. Be- ing there for your friends when they need you the most is really important. Julie Woods A friend to me is so- meone I can turn to in time of need, but also someone who I can share happiness with. The most important factor of a friend is to be yourself. A true friend will be a lifelong friend. Traci Effertz A good friend would be loyal, kind and have a good personalityg one to match your own. I feel a good friend should be will- ing to make small sacrifices for his friend if it does not cause a loss to him. I think friends are the greatest thing in the world. Mark Mosser

Holly Flickinger The system of athletics at Magic City Campus can offer any athlete the opportunity to excel, to achieve any certain goal he sets so long as that athlete is determined. Joe Vicha I feel Minot High School definitely has one of the top athletic programs in the state. Not only does it consist of excellent equipment and facilities but also consists of top quality coaches, a good positive attitude and a great winning tradition. Andy Patzner 'lf-mi I feel the athletic system at Minot High is definitely one of the best in the state. We not only have great facilities and an abundant amount of par- ticipants with the desire and ability to succeed, but we also have some of the greatest coaches, and without them athletics just wouldn't exist. I would like to thank all my coaches for they were the ones who made me work and gave me the desire to succeed. Dana Fiedler
