The Freshmen The Class of 1960 entered their high school career much the same as the classes before them and those to follow. We came from various schools giving us many backgrounds-each one 'hoping his background sufficient for a successful career in high school. Some of us showed a good degree of success at the end of the first semester with the following names listed on the Honor Roll: Lydia Fox, Karen Hagmayer, Katherine Holbrook, Dorothy Hutchinson, Larry Peterson, Glenda Todd, and Tonya Weers. Our first meeting as a group was the election of officers when we elected Laverne Peterson, Presidentg Robert Brust, Vice-Presidentg Howard Valentine, Secretaryg and Karen Hagrnayer, Treasurer. Larry Peterson and Tonya Weers represented us on the Student Council. Several of the girls found their places in Girls' Chorus while boys with athletic ability sought places on the basketball squad. The Band gave others an opportunity to continue their interest in music. The' social event of the year for our class was an all-school dance. In the coming years we hope we may find our places as leaders in the Minooka Community High School. 29
