THE SENIOR DI Dear Tom: We were sorry that you were unable to at- tend our tenth annual class reunion, but of course Sophie Konjevich, the Hrst woman presi- dent of the United States, couldnlt spare you from your duties as the ambassador to Ireland. We started from Midway Airport in Chicago. As we boarded the plane, we were delighted to see that Lois jennings was the stewardess for our trip. We were so happy to see her that we didn't mind when she spilled most of our din- ner on us. just as we were getting ready to take off we saw two young men hurrying down the runway waving for the plane to wait, As they got on the plane, we were overjoyed to see that it was joe Guglielmetti and jerry Emmert. joe is nationally famous for his many inventions, such as his automatic potholder. ferry is the star outfielder for the New York Yankees, and he leads the league in getting hit in the head with fly balls. Sitting behind us were foanne Coop and Gordon Marley. joanne is a famous novelist, her latest book being titled The Private Life of a Bubble Dancer. Gordon is a top agent for the FBI, having just recently solved the Who,s Got the Fox mystery. just across from us were Yvonne Ferguson a n d Alice Van Cleave. Yvonne is a top designer in Miami, her newest gown being a strapless model with 'built in Han- nel slacks for chilly evenings. Alice is the head of the mathematics department at the new University of Minooka. Alice always had a good--er--I mean she always liked figures. We had been air-borne for about an hour when the pilot came through, and we were glad to see it was jay Erickson. jay is the leading United Airlines pilot when it comes to being in the most crack-ups. Later, when we landed in New York, we were much elated to see Bev Schimrnel and Pete McMillin waiting to greet us. Bev is writ- ing a lovelorn column for the Chicago Tribune under the name of Harriet Heart Throb, while Pete, besides having a family of eighteen, has for 'the last three years won the Indianapolis '500' ARY We went by cab to the famous Spirit of '55 Nightclub, and waiting there for us was Earl Shearer. Earl, besides being the owner of this great club, is the major stockholder in the mar- ble industry. We had just been seated when two beautiful young ladies bearing the names of Ferne Schimrnel and june Wilhelmi entered, and we happily motioned them to our reserved tables. Ferne is a No. l movie starlet, her latest picture being 'AHcnry Come Home. june is a top recording artist these days, her latest disc being 'SI Gave Dickey a lVIiekey. We heard a car screech to a stop out in front and in it was Hank Sing and Pat Conroy. Hank is the coach of the University of Minooka basketball team which was ranked No. 1 last year-that is No. 1 in Minooka. Pat is presi- dent of a soft drink industry which features the famous Conroy Cola. Pat never touches the stuff himself though- 'ltoo strong, he says. The waiter had just taken our orders when Carol Dixon zoomed in. Carol has been very busy lately as president of the National Society of Hot-Rodders. Right behind Carol were Bar- bara Allen and Patsy Torkelson. Barbara is a successful model these days. Next week she is going to model in the annual horse show. Patsy is the principal of the famous school of temper control, even though she had never been able to pass the course. We were all talking over the good times we had back at good old Minooka High when in came Walt Bradley and Mike Stegman, Walt is a top man at the pentagon these days - he paints the Hag pole. Mike is the Naval Com- mander of the Seventh Fleet-on the lake in Central Park. We 'thought our guest of honor would never arrive but sure enough, in staggered, I mean walked-no I guess he did stagger, well, any- way it was our former favorite teacher Mr. Sampson. Well now that everyone is here, the great reunion may begin. Sorry you couldn't be here, Tom, but we'll write to you later about the occasion. Sincerely, ffrom the tune of the same namej Class of '55
