Academics Encourage Expression In ifs own way, Minnehaha prepared students to express themselves by offering ocodemic advantages. social opportunities and personal challenges. While not all students felt they were encouraged to express their personal opinions, likes or dislikes, many others were quick to point our M.A.'s Invitations to express yourself!'' Academically, Foang Your Future initiated a volunteer community service project, allowing seniors to receive credit for 25 hours of service in an area of their interests. New senior composition texts were purchased, completing a 9-12 series which integrated grammar with composition. A ninth-hour Basic English doss was offered to assist students with grammar, punctuation and basic writing skills. Chemistry lecture classes were moved to North Campus, making the teacher more available during the day. Three new teachers were odd-ed in Physicol Education, French, ond Drama, which was officially transferred from the English deportment to the Fine Arts department. Languoge expression rook place in a new environment, as seven classrooms in the 1913 building received a major face lift. Sophomore hall and all connecting rooms were carpeted. Some new lockers were installed ond old lockers pointed. Cheering the soccer team to victory. Jonls McKoy (10), Tiffany Londis (10), ond Shayno Osterhus (10) express their school spirit during Homecoming.
