Snow Daze was held this year the week of February 8-12. At the North Campus, Monday was Ragstock Day, Tuesday was Sweatsuit Day. Wednesday was Hawaiian Day, Thursday was Jersey Day and Friday was Red White and Heart Day. At the South Campus it was Western Day, Sweatsuit Day, Hawaiian Day, Army Day and Jersey Day. Activities such as snow cones after school and the broomball tournament were once again part of Snow Daze week. Some broomball teams were “Uncle Eric’s Chicago Sheiks, “King Salami’s Blonde Bombshells, “Bruce's Gooses, and the tournament winners, “Classes Two Hours Late and No Morning Kindergarten, who defeated three teams, including the Rim Jobs 2-0 in the final. The games were played at the South Campus ice arena. Also played that week was an ice hockey game between Middle School faculty and students. Refereeing was provided by two Blue Aardvark members, Ken Gardner and John Parsch. On Saturday night two movies were shown at the North Campus, What’s Up Doc? and a John Wayne movie called Cowboys. 26 Sno-Daze

NATIONAL HONOR SOCIETY Members of the National Honor Society are nominated and carefully evaluated by a faculty committee in the areas of scholarship, leadership, service and character. A grade point average of 3.0 in the past 7 quarters is required. Juniors must average a 3.3 grade point average. Principal Ken Greener advises NHS. An induction for new members was held on April 13, 1982. NHS members are responsible for running the bookstore before school and during lunch hours in the campus room. Profits help pay for a planned activity at the end of the year. Members also support a needy child through the Compassion Program. The goal is to provide sponsor for needy children throughout the world. This child was Tjia Sign Hian, whom they supported prayer and correspondence. Members again sold carnations during Spirit Week.
