OH, WHAT A DAY! All three teams were victors on Homecoming Saturday, which helped make the day a big success. The soccer team got the ball rolling with a 10-0 victory over Brady. Just as successful was the volleyball team, which swept Brooklyn Center 18-11, 18-8. Between games, such things as a dunking machine and a lunch served by the Pink Panthers provided plenty of action. Prior to the football game, a parade took place from North Campus to South Campus. The marching band, cars with Homecoming Royalty and the Pink Panthers were all part of the parade. Concluding the successful day was the football game. Despite a rainy afternoon, Minnehaha defeated Cannon Falls 7-6. This win was the first Homecoming football game victory since 1975, when Minnehaha defeated Brooklyn Center 27-21 in overtime. Homecoming Sports 15

DEDICATION “It is an historic moment in the life of Minnehaha Academy, stated Reverend Stanley Henderson, Northwest Conference Superintendent of the Evangelical Covenant Church of America, owners of Minnehaha’s North Campus and newly dedicated South Campus. Minnehaha’s South Campus was formally dedicated on Sunday. October 3 at 3:00 p.m. President Craig Nelson welcomed the crowd. Scripture reading and greeting were given by Dr. Richard Sletten. Chairman of the Board of Education. He also recognized the other Board members, including the Reverend Thomas Anderson who gave the Invocation. Superintendent Henderson spoke, followed by the dedication by the congregation and Dr. Milton Engebretson, President of the Evangelical Covenant Church. President Engebretson formerly was a minister at Elim Covenant Church. Special music was provided by the sixth grade chorus and a string quartet from the North Campus.
