Early Saturday morning, September 23, the Y-Teens began their successful year by selling Forget-Me-Nots for the Disabled American Veterans. Sherry Dieringer sold the most. On September 25, a mixer was held in the gym, in order that the girls might get acquainted. The officers outlined the program for the year. At the Recognition Ceremonial, October 10, 121 girls were inducted into the club and were presented carnations by their committee chairmen. October 18, the Y-Teens held a swimming party at the YWCA in Canton. November 18, U23 Skidoo was part of the Roaring 20's dance held in the auditorium. During November and December the girls sold party mix nuts. Trudy Culp sold the most-84 cans. 79 A bake sale was held in January at the Minerva Banking Company. There was a new twist at the annual formal, January 27. It was the Pepper- mint Twist. Winnie Wilson and her escort won the contest at intermission. The Carrollton Swing Band furnished th e music, and the Future Homemakers serv- ed pink punch and beautifully decorated cookies in a candlelit setting. The Y-Teens had charge of the Easter Assembly. Anna Ossler conducted the worship service, which included the Seven Last Words of Christ. In April, the new officers were elected for the following year. They are president, Sherilyn Strachan: vice president, Winnie Wilsong secretary, Jill Henry, treasurer, Ellen Donaldson.
