Girls' Counselor Miss Hazen's many years at Minerva at- test to the fact that she is a favorite of schol- ars faculty members and local citizens alike. HAJLN., 'ul-0-H-22-M-4.AC, Supermtenclent Haskell F Pauldmg Mr Pauldmg IS enjoying his first year m Minerva He formerly has worked ln education as a teacher principal and ad mlmstrator for 19 years Our superintendent spends his vacat lon time playing his favorite game golf He plays left handed and IS a member of the National Left Handles Association During last summer Mr Paulding won two trophies in left handed competition Al though he insists he IS a duffer his aver age 43 score peaks for itself While attending Oklahoma A and M at Stillwater 1926 to 1929 Mr Pauldmg was a member of the Aggies famous bas ketball team of that time Mr Pauldmg emoys all athletics Life ls mterestmg for Mr Pauldm students solve their problems He thinks wide experience develops a full life and that we should profit by our mistakes Dear Seniors, There was once a time when people could walk They had to walk Indians beat trails across miles of prairie and forest land Our forefathers fought the Revolution on foot Th pioneers walked beside their ox teams and covered wagons Persons who traveled on foot required sturdy qual1t1es A stubbed toe, bad weather, little money, small quantities of food in his knapsack did not stop his progress He was thankful at days end that God had been with him 1n his hazardous trek through the Wlldel ness Courage sustain ed him, a dream, a vision, lured him on He knew where he was going He was not Just simply on the road, he was on the load to somewhere You who are leaving school are likewise starting out on a road, on the quest of something You might ask yourself whether you have what it takes Can you stand up to d1scou1agement Can you get up if you fall flat? Have you any desue to get up? To get any where along the road you are now traveling you will have to wolk One does not get something for nothing Your diploma was not acquired wlthout some effolt on your part Some of you, however, did not work hard enough This fact will be discovered by you while traveling on your road to somewhere. There is much contentment in doing things, in getting on in your plansg in achievement.
