Principal Mr. O. D. Byers has been the principal for three years. During this time, the school has enjoyed many improvements brought about largely through his efforts. At all times. he is interested in cooperative and mutual community and school interests and progressive advances for the student body. STUDENT COUNCIL The Student Council, composed of the Student Body Officers, is the executive body of the high school. This year the school has a new constitution by which it governs and is governed. By one of the changes in the constitution the number of members in the council was cut down to six instead of the former number of thirty or more. Because of this change duties of the council are completed in a shorter time. The council meets once a week to discuss the business at hand. Each member has a special duty. The members and their duties are: President-Ed Opp Secretary-Ioyce Birkemeir. First Vice-President in Charge of F inances-Mary Yoshitomi Second Vice-President in Charge of Athletics-Floyd Taylor Third Vice-President in Charge of Publications-Stanley Whipple Fourth Vice-President in Charge of Organizations-Verna Van Gordon. The faculty advisers for the president are Mr. O. D. Byers and Mr. Martin Anderson: for first vice-president, Miss Ruth Mellinger: for second vice-presi- dent, Mr. Erwin Lange: for third vice-president, Miss Betty Nutter: for fourth vice-president, Mr. Luther McNulty. MRS. CATHARINE PIPER, DEAN OF GIRLS Mrs. Catharine Piper, for six years has capably performed her duties as dean of girls. To her are brought many problems which she helps solve. Through her guidance many have had their difficulties smoothed out for them. MR. HORACE E. PATTISON, VICE-PRINCIPAL Our vice-principal, Mr. Horace E. Pattison, has held his office at the high school for eleven years. Through his position and his class in mookkeeping he comes in contact with many stu- dents. He always does his best to help, serve, and guide every- one in every possible way.
