LaVeme Briggs Although the Sophomores have not been very prominent as an individual body this year, they have taken their part in school activities. After a very successful season, the Sophomore girls' soccer team emerged with the laurels. The team's captain was Sally Twohy. Gracie Powell, a Sophomore, was secretary of the student body. Olga Bubenik was president of the Footlighter Club. Elia Leibold, secretary, and Morris Rivers, sergeant-at-arms, were the other Sophomores holding offices in the club. Event of the year was the roller skating party on December 17, sponsored by the Sophomore class. Those Sophomores who were able to gain top honors in scholastic ability and appeared on the honor roll were Iarnes Caufield, Betty Plotner, and Amy lean Freed. The Athletta Club has several Sophomores: Sally Twohy. Gracie Powell, Dorothy Coykendall. Trudy Weiss, Marjorie Iones. Frances Nelson, Iune Postal, and Bonnie Bramblett. Sophomores in Iunior basketball were Chuck Metcalf, Ralph Cooper, Robert Yoshitomi. Dalton Brown, and Norman Hoskins. Stan Whipple played on the varsity basketball team. Clem Meeks and Bud Butcher participated in varsity football. The class adviser was Mr. Lange.

Bernice Bertman The freshman class had a rather late but effective start. The officers were: Ralph Nortell, president: Pat Enders, vice-president: Ioyce Birkemier, secretary: Bernice Bertman, treasurer: Boyd Gibson, sergeant-at-arms. The boys were very interested in football and many freshmen made the Iunior Football Squad. Those on the Iunior Squad from the freshman class were: Otis Taylor, Teddy Binn, Iack Geortzen, Garret Soules, Bob Ostrom, Carl Bargarde, Ralph Mosier, Milton Gumbert, Sid Hall, Kim Kaufman, and Iim Corrigan. Freshman students on the honor roll were: Ioyce Berkemeier, Mary Hemrich, lean Neals, lean O'Shanic, Nancy Williams, and David W. Wright. Wayne Deardorff was the freshman class editor for the Maroon. Many freshman students were interested in dramatics and those who became members of the Footlighter Club are: Clarence Becraft, Ioan Bendixen, Ioyce Birke- mier, Donald Holliday, Bill Carey, Virginia Beatty, Mary lane Worthington, Iune Praggastis, Robert Brownell, Coralie Crosby, Richard Foltz, Marian Herzog. Lucien Loring, Garret Saules, and Iune Southwick. The freshmen in the band are: Manford Lovelett, Ernest Thompson, Norman Anderson, Donald McCloughlin, Billy Carey, Bob Davis, Bob Ostrom, Chris Steres, Donald McEacheron, Teddy Binn, and Iames Tharp. The freshman boys who were outstanding in sports are: Evan Ulrich and Nilo Untinen. Mr. Robnett was the freshman class adviser.
