'We, the class of '47, entered Milton
Union this year feeling rather green. XVe
were to experience something entirely new
and different. Some of us were to enjoy it
-some of us not to. Our number totaled
seventy-two.
In September, when the school election
was held, the freshmen elected their class
oiiicers, choosing as class leaders: Robert
Samuelson, president, Inez 'Wagneip vice-
president: Mariorie Burdick, secretaryg
and. Carolyn Burdick. treasurer. Ruth
Madison was elected cheerleader. John
Fish and Joan Dorr represented us in the
Student Council the tirst semester. and
John Fish and Inez 'Wagneix the second
semester. Hoys' intramural manager was
Richard Hartzellg girls' intramural man-
ager was LaVonne Schaeffer. Our advisors
this year were Miss Stockman and Coach
Anderson. and, later, Coach Eastman after
Coach Anderson resigned.
YVe have done very well in the sports
world this year. Freshmen boys and girls
have participated well in the intran1urals-
the girls having two basketball teams. the
"Cats" and the "IJogs". The boys have
done well in both basketball and football.
One of our outstanding boys in athletics is
John Fish, who was the only freshman to
win a Major C.
In the music world, we have also done
well. Quite a few members were in the
A Cappella Choir and band.
During the year, the treslnnen had a
party which was enjoyed by all.
Several left us during the year. These
were: Janet XV2l1'IIUl', IYarren Yale. Mary
Hewitt, IVilliani Iimniert. and. new mem-
bers who entered during the school year
were: Paul Stevens and Elma Mitchell.
Now. we are looking forward to next
year when we won't be referred to as
"those freshmen."
