l l i april The month of April was Students attending the United High School Press Conference at Marshall University. The University Guitar Ensemble presented a concert on the 4th. The foods classes selling Easter Eggs. Mr. Hawkins taking last orders for caps and gowns on the 6th. Also on the 6th, cheerleader hopefuls could sign- up. The 9th announced the new Flag Corps members. National Honor Society, Mu Alpha Theta and Student council inductions were held during an assembly on the 10th. We had an Easter Seals Drive. Some students took a trip to the Inca Labs. The Student Body was stunned by the death of David Kinnard in an auto accident on his way to school. The 13th was busy-some students went to the FHA meeting at Cedar Lakes. The Varsity Cheerleaders were named. The last day before spring break so we had an afternoon dance. Jenny Jenkins painting appeared in the Herald Dispatch on the 15th. Forms were passed out for chaperons to the Special Olympics. The girls tennis team placing third overall and Prom Tickets on sale. jjl. a T w-w may May had for us many high points and low points. Our softball, tennis, baseball and track teams were doing their thing. The ever popular Spring Show sponsored by the music department, was a riotting success. Senior Skip Day was had. Spring sports banquet was consumed. The Academic Awards Assembly, gave credit where credit was due. Timmy Harlan's death in a car crash did another number on our temporal selves. The seniors had a luncheon and had their cap and gown pictures taken on the 18th. This was the seniors last day in classes. The Athletic Awards Assembly was giving anyway. Graduation was held, Baccalaureate was preached, the Prom was danced and May was over.
