january The month of January which delivers Baby New Year also brings winter activities, snow and snow. However, most importantly, January puts us on a fresh new start on a new year. January in the year of 1984 became very important to our classmates that started MHS, in 1981 for they are the Seniors! During this month, important decisions were made by these people. The class of '84 chose their class colors as being: Pink and Gray also the class flower as a Pink Rose. Their motto is, Take life one step at a time and before you know it, you've walked a lifetime. The seniors also selected Josten as the company from which to order graduation announcements, caps and gowns. During his month, yearbook orders were taken. Mother Nature controlled January by sending the wicked wind of the North our way. We experienced several frigid days and snowy nights. This weather forced school to be closed on many days thus providing a short month of school and a curtailment of activities. However, the weather didn't down the Milton Spirit. Jennifer Murrell won first place in Voice of Democracy contest. DECA sold donuts as a fund raiser. WKEE radio challenged Coach Lovejoy's River Rats in a game of Basketball and this was sponsored by the Close Up Club. The Junior Class entertained the school by showing the film, laws as a fund raiser for the JrJSr. prom. And last but not least the sports scene of January included basketball, volleyball, and wrestling. The basketball team tried with all their might; however, lost more than they won. The girls of the volleyball team had a very successful season with many victories. The boys of the wrestling team should be commended for they exhibited an excellent season. MHS, also hosted their very first of hopefully many more to come wrestling tournaments. January 1984 is now at a close; however, its memories will live on in our hearts as well as our laughter, will echo the hallways of MHS long after we've gone. 19
