november The month of November was, what we may call, a slow month. By this time everyone was already well adjusted to the routine of things. The girls basketball team won their sectional game with Barboursville and went to the sectional finals at Huntington East. We'll wipe from our memory the 12-6 loss at Hurricane High. Boys basketball team tryouts were held and wrestling season started this month also. If students had any money, what so ever, they weren't able to keep it long during the month of November. Groups and organizations were selling just about everything imaginable. The Juniors sold cookies while the Band and the Student Council sold cheese and sausage. The Band, along with the Ensemble, sold oranges and grapefruits. 1984 yearbook sales began and the Yearbook staff also sold Beau or Bow Wow buttons. With Christmas right around the corner, students were finding it rough to buy any of these goodies. Another event which occured in November was American Education Week. The student council had a party for the faculty, principal, and assistant principal in appreciation to their fine work. The student council also showed the movie, Chariots of Fire. The movie gave the student body a nice break from hard work and classes. A couple other things that occured in the month of November was; make-up pictures for Sophomores and Juniors, a crack-down on clock cords and a dinner sponsored by American Legion for A students. November was a month that was long looked forward to for two reasons; Thanksgiving vacation and the food! Other than the few items mentioned, the month of November was quite boring. Thus ended the month of November. 15
