On March 12 the maroon clad Millsap girls trounced Brock by the
o e sided score of 39 to 21 This ended the most successful g1rl's
basketball season in the history of Millsap Led by Captain Dorothy
Henderson, who scored 386 points the Millsap girls won 20 games and
lost 11 Although they were defeated by Brock for the County Champion
ship, the season s record shows that Brock was defeated six times in
eight contests Nine girls have played their last game for Millsap, and
will be sorely m1ssed next year These girls are Dorothy Henderson
Mary Evelyn Phillips, Dean Miller Nora ane McDonald, Margie Durham
Pauline Calhoun oNell Folwell, Thelma Austin and Ramona Pattgzszh
Eleven different girls played orward at various times The girls and
the number of points scored by each are as follows Dorothy Henderson,
386, Mary Evelyn Phillips, 135, Barbara Parks, L
Georgie Lee Endsley, 44 e Day, 33, JoNel ggrzna Dean
Miller, 2 Even though most of the firs string players were lost by
graduation, prospects for next year are bright Parks L Calhoun
Stamps, Armstrong, and Carpenter are capable guards Competition for
the remaining places on the team will be strong Forwards who have a
good chance are Ruby ean McKenzie, Lorranine Walker, and Ruby Lee
Warren The strongest candidates for theNghard pbsds appear t be
Audrey Warren, Mary Ruth Byrd, Nellie ean Stamps, Patr1c1a Newberry,

The Bulldogs of 1945 46 won 18 games and lost 16 While this
record may not seem 1mpress1ve, it must be remembered that only Devere
Shackelford and Truman Williams were holdovers from last year's great
team Boys from this year's squad who will be back next year are Royce
Hightower, Weldon Spracklen, Harold Butler, Roy Knight, Dick Strain,
Donald Watson, John W Hall, and Robert Roy Other boys who will strive
for places on the team are Wesley Sager, Wendell Patterson, Richard
Tierce, Bill Newberry, Wendell Roy, and Grady Smallwood If some of the
boys add a few inches to their height, the Bulldogs should be among the
top teams of the county next season Scores of individual players are
as follows Captain Shackelford, 375, Wllliam5,.314 Hightower, 105,
Gardner, 30, Dudley, 18, Butler, 22, Watson, 17, Hall, 9 Spracklen, 10,
night 5 Strain, and Roy, Shackelford, William Gardner, and
Dudley will be lost by graduation Attendance this year has been excel
lent and the Bulldogs want to take this opportunity to express their
thanks fo the fine cooperation of the community Fine sportsmanship
has been shown by all members of both the boy's and g1rl's teams as well
as the other teams in the county After all, one of the chief benefits
derived from basketball is fair play

Your yearbook is a store ot treasured memories. The
oft repeated thrill of recollection which accompanies
each new search through its pages will many times
repay you for the care and consideration which has
gone into its creation.
We are proud of the part we have had in the produc-
tion ot this book. lt indicates the wealth of ideas and
ability which have made possible the long record of
our school annual achievement.
