QUILL AND SCROLL Quill and Scroll is an International Honorary Society composed of high school journalists. Those seniors and juniors on either the Trojan Yearbook Staff, the Epic Staff or Trojan Newspaper Staff who have done outstanding work or who have shown high levels of leadership abilities are eligible for membership. The Principal’s Advisory Committee is chosen by the student body to express their ideas to Mr. Morton. This committee is very important as a means of beneficial change at MCHS. TALENT SHOW Each spring, the yearbook staff sponsors a talent show as one of its fund raising projects. Mr. Trent McVay was the master of ceremonies. Two of the participants received special invitations to the Mid-South Fair Youth Talent Contest sponsored by WREG-TV channel 3. Everett Strong was selected for his vocal solo. Everett was also 1st runner up in the preliminaries. LaDrone Parks was chosen for her dance solo. The categorical winners received trophies for their performances. These winners were Jimille Jordan for her vocal solo, “The Soul Stirrers” for their medley of gospel songs, and the Popateers for their dance performance. The overall winner selected by the judges was the jazz band “Horizon.” This act was automatically given an invitation to the Mid-South Fair Talent Contest. 1. Everett Strong 2. LaDrone Parks 3.
