FOREWORD Our school is a modem comprehensive high' school. Here, through a blending of classroom education, sports, and other actif vities, welbecome the thinking, acting, ener- getic adults of tomorrow. Each student's potentialities are explored and channeled to fit the grand design for a better world. Without this educational develop-ment, thought, action and energy are of little value to us. Tomorrow is ours. Our young hands must. become firm and strong, for it is in these hands that the future of the world is to be placed. We at Millikan have been fortunate in having an exceptional principal in the person of Eaton O. Bemis. Pioneering the school's organization and leading in the development its educational program, he has earned the respect of teachers, students, and the community as the driving force in achiev- ing excellence for our school. Mr. Bemis's experience began in 7927 when he received his bachelor's degree from Eastern Michigan University. For twenty years he served as teacher, elementary and high school principal at various cities in Michigan. His service in California since then includes work as a counselor at Franklin Junior High School, superintendent of the Lakewood School District, principal of Lakewood Junior High School, and principal of Woodrow Wil- son High School. Coming to Millikan as its first executive in 7956, he has brought the benefits of his wisdom to all of us. The Aries is indeed proud of the oppor- tunity to pay tribute to this fine administrator.
