DEDICATION Professor Eugene Patton Price, Sr. came to Milligan in September of 1949. Since joining the faculty, he has be- come one of nine full professors, co-chairman of the Area of Professional Learning and Director of Placement (a service he began in 1960). Mr. Price hails from Erwin - ' The Garden ' - where he began his education at Elm Street Elementary and Unicoi County High School. His college career was interrupted by World War II. After his service as a sargeant in the United States Air Force he returned to Duke University to complete his B.A. and Master ' s degrees. Mr. Price presently teaches courses in business admin- istration and economics at Milligan, teaches banking courses at ETSU, serves as co-sponsor for Phi Beta Lambda, secretary of the Academic Committee, member of the Insurance and Bulletin Committees and marshall for the faculty. Mr. Price has been teaching longer than any other person presently here. Mr. Price is a member of the First Christian Church oi Erwin, where he is a teacher for a men ' s Bible class, Bible School Superintendent and member of the church choir. Mr. Price has recently finished a term as governor of the KY-TN District of Kiwanis International. He also serves as Vice-Chairman of the Board of Directors of Er- win National Bank. Mr. Price has received the Freedom Foundation Award for his address entitled Three Cheers for America. The hobbies of Mr. Price intrigue many students - from his interest in coin collecting and photography, to his col- lections of model trains, tie tacs and piggy banks. Mr. B.J. Moore, a neighbor from Erwin, said, There is not a more well thought of person in Erwin than Gene Price. As a part of the Milligan community, students have been blessed and encouraged by the professor, leader and person, Gene Price. The 1980 BUFFALO is dedicated to this man. r
