His oppeoronce wos rumpled os nothing he wore seemed to be in place the grey sun's pocket lopels were tucked inside the pockets, the skinny block tie wos flung down his chest directed by the wrinkles of his white shirt, ond the brown shoes were reminiscent of yesterday’s clothes The mon—Leslie Nielsen in Clarence Dorrow. o one-man ploy performed April 17. 1960. in Lyte Auditorium Dorrow wos o famous American lawyer He is best remembered for the Scopes tnol in which he defended the right to teoch evolution in Tennessee schools Dorrow. os portroyed by Nielsen, wos o mon concerned with the welfare of the laborer ond the poor The courtroom scenes were filled with passion, while the scenes of Dorrow s private life were of o more nostolgic air This, along with his rumpled oppeoronce. hinted thot Dorrow wos disinterested in himself ond devoted his energy to those whom he defended.
