IN MEMORIAM FORREST R. ENDERS. associate professor of English at Millersville State College. died August 25, 1966. in the University of Pennsylvania Hospital. Philadelphia. after being seriously ill since June. resident of Lancaster. Mr. Enders served on the college faculty since 1962. Previously lie taught at William Penn Senior High School in York and at Tri-County High School. Canton. Pa. Mr. Enders received his A.B. degree in 1950 and his VI.A. degree in 1955 both from Penn State University. He was a John Hay Fellow at the University of Chicago from 1960-1961 and did graduate study at Penn State from 1961-1965. while on leave from Millersville. Mr. Enders taught American Literature, speech and Freshman English at Millersville. His untimely death saddened the campus. MISS ESTHER E. LF.NHARDT. a retired member of the Millersville State College faculty, died on Thursday. January 2. 1966. in the Lancaster General Hospital after a four-month illness. graduate of the 1910 class of Millersville Normal School, Miss Lenhardt served on the Millersville faculty for 51 years. In 1929 she was co-editor of the lyrics for the Millersville Stale College alma mater. She was also responsible for organizing the Citamard players, and served as drama coach, directing 95 student productions. After resigning from the English Department in 1951. Miss l.euluirdt returned to college service the following year as alumni secretary. She held this position for 11 years. In 1962 she received the annual service award presented by Snappt'.r for outstanding service to the college. It was disclosed in 1967 that Mis Lenhardt had willed her personal collection of approximately 800 hooks to the college library. Few Millersville people have served the college longer than Miss Lenhardt and few have ever been so much a part of the school's development and grow th as was Miss lamhardt in her 18 years of service.
