DEANS Deans servo as pari of llio integral system that keeps Millersville State College functioning as an orgunized institution. In charge of formulating residence hall policies are Dr. Clyde Stine, dean of men. and Miss Helen (ionwav. dean of women, with the help of l)r. Ceorge Stine and Mr. Henry Bucher, assistant deans of men. Dr. William Duncan, dean of student affairs, is responsible for co-ordinating ami administering all aspects of student life as well as maintaining the college calendar. Sonic of Dr. Duncan's specific responsibilities include supervision of health services, food services, traffic and safety, and extra curricular activities. Responsible for the administration of admission policies as determined l the faculty, for the awarding of Sico anil other scholarships, and for contact with public schools is Dr. Robert Brown, director of admissions. Newly appointed Dr. Dale Striek. dean of academic affairs, is responsible for academic progress, recruiting new faculty members, and approving faculty housing. Faculty members consult with Dr. Striek concerning their methods of leaching and professional development. Serving as Assistant Dean of Academic Affairs. Dr. Daun eshil is in charge of all student records, evaluation of transfer credits, teacher certification, and other duties as assigned l Dr. Striek. Dircetoi of the Liberal Arts Program. Dr. Michael Kovach supervises the entire program by keeping abreast of new developments within the liberal arts field, relating these developments to the faculty, incorporating these developments into the curriculum, and dispensing information about liberal arts. Included among the duties of Mr. . Landis Braekbill. the registrar, are the scheduling of classes and preparation of the master schedule. Guidance Services are provided through the office of Mr. Ghatlcs Kent, director of guidance services. Mr. Kent, in addition to helping students with any problems they have, administers the orientation program for new students, serves as adviser to foreign students- and co-ordinates guidance services with other administrative agencies.
