The Spirit of Millersville Tin- spirit of a college- of Millersville—i as important as it is (lifTieult to grasp and to describe. Perhaps liv describing win it is important I ran explain what it is. Spirit is important to a college because it constitutes a s' 1 ■' 1 which binds together all of ii students, fac- ulty and administration and makes us a community of scholars. There are many aspects of such a community: faculty and classes: dances and sports: tests and grades to cite a few. Kadi of us. as we think back on the community of scholars we call Millersville State College, may see it in one or another of these aspects. But if all of us have done our job well, we see the same community of scholars bound together by the same spirit and identified as Millersville State College. Your membership in and graduation from this com-munity of scholars will constitute one of the most important experiences in your life. It has given you lifelong friends, an ultimate profession, and an unparalleled opportunity to search for truth and learning. We who remain salute you who are leaving, wish you Godspeed and hope to see you soon, and often, on campus. Kodiskt A. Christie. I resident The Christie family.
