Freshman Sally llomsher Millersville's Sweetheart Queen Surely. a long-rcmcml»en d evening at MSC will lie year's Sweetheart Dam p held on February 16 in Brooks Mali. The annual affair, sponsored by Student Council to commemorate St. Valentine’s Day. was a brilliant success. Furnished by the Technical Arts Club, the elegant and £ unique decoration provided a setting that drew wide-spread applaud. The evening' ecstatic atmosphere was heightened with the vibrant music of “The Continentals of Lancaster. The particular moment of the evening anxiously awaited by everyone came when Mrs. D. L. Bicmesdcrfer bestowed the honor upon Miss Sally llomsher ns the reigning Sweetheart Queen of 1962. The Queen was then presented with a dozen red roar’s. The court attendants were runners-up Peggy Mason and Sally Decry, who were both presented with a bouquet id white and pink carnations. Couples dance to the music of the “Continentals in gaily decorated Brooks Hall. lively Sally llomsher reigns inelegant splendor as MSC Sweetheart Queen for 1962. Queen candidates for 1962 are the following: First Row: Freshmen Sails llomsher and Jud F.hemann. Sophomore Peggy Mason and Pal Dresser. Second Row: Junior Sandy Franklin and Sally Decry. Senior Mine Keefer and Stephanie urcic are missing from the picture.

Cliarniin Dolores Hehrer reigns as Homecoming Queen, l‘W»I. The Women’s Day Student Association depicts phase of the Homecoming theme. ‘Millcrsv ille looks at Cixil NVar ,hrir ,lisl,la - 18 Civil War Theme For Homecoming The w« ckcnd of OcIoIkt 27 ami 21» found l. S. C. covering up the new and looking for the old. This was Homecoming Weekend ami tin- chosen theme was “Millersville Looks at the Civil War. The weekend of October 27 and 211 found MSC cov-sponsored by Alpha Phi Omega on Friduy evening. Saturday began fairly early foi some coeds who were still putting last minute touches on the displays. For the first time floats were entered and displayed at the halftime of the football game. Various organization.' held reunions for the alumni. To top the weekend Millersville uj set Mansfield in the football game. Miss Dolores Hehrer was crowned as the reigning Homecoming Queen at the Varsity Drag Saturday evening. Misses Mary Brice and KJIen Cullman were her court. Light lovely girls vie for the Homecoming Queen title. In back are Dolores Hehrer. Judy Murphy, -Sue Hill and Ann Sprenkle. Seated are Connie Hcnch, Kllen (.'oilman. Mary Brice and Hose-mary Koontz. Jackie Butterw-orlh. Valerie ndrew . Sue Weidemoyt r and Heidi Schroeder make last minute adjustments to the Women’s Community Association display.

Harriet Griffith, Carolyn Manning and jud McDowell. Joann Clouser happily accepts the Talent Queen award from Leon Gile. Student Council president. Spring Fling Weekend Heralds Final Exams The Spring Fling weekend sponsored by Student Council marked its opening with a Talent Show with Larry Shcnk us master of ceremonies. William Chandlers was chosen the winner of the extra talent competition for his presentation of the Warsaw Concerto . Friday evening's activities were culminated by the crowning of Miss Joann Clouser as talent queen for her dramatic reading of Patterns by Amy Lowell. On Saturday an all-campus picnic, which had to be held indoors because of the inclement weather, and the state college championship track event were the activities during the day. In the evening the annual Spring Fling dance was held in I hook- Hall. The crowning of Mary Noonan as Miss Spring Fling highlighted the dance and the weekend.
