Cfom JQ4fo1f On a pleasant September momlng rn 1946 f1ftye1ght eager boys and grrls regrstered as Freshmen at Mlllersburg Hrgh School Under the superv1s1on of the1r class sponsor Mr Maple the class elected the follow1ng offrcers presldent Robert Huston v1ce presrdent Dwtght Stewart secretary and treasurer Iohn Math1e Ruth Bergoon represented the fresh man class as queen s attendant The only class act1v1ty durmg the year was the class party held in the hlgh school aud1tor1um 1n May There were two transfers durxng the year Gene Waltman and Charles Krng Our sophomore year began w1th a number of changes 1n enrollment The great number of wrthdrawals loan Slack Ruth Bergoon Mary Car1llon Annabelle Camahan Faye Weaver Unlta Akms Gene Whrttenmeyer and Robert Lewrs were offset however by the add1t1on of f1VG new members B1ll Marks Glorla Krrk patnck Evelyn Calame lack Rottman and Mrldred Vaughn The off1cers who so eff1c1ently led us through th1s year as sophs were presl dent Iames We1ss vrce presldent Royal Hall secretary Esther Farr treasurer M1r1am Stauf fer One of the hrghhghts of th1s year was the annual Homecom1ng Game and Dance The sophomore attendant was Evelyn Calame The year closed w1th the sophomore party wh1ch entertamed the class sponsors Mr Maple and at the Country Club After the pass1ng of summer we soon found ourselves back rn school wrth a new cognomen that of Jun1ors Two former members faxled to answer roll Naom1 Fortune and R1chard Schel l1n but Aldene and Charlene M1ller enrolled as new members The class leaders for th1s very busy year were presldent Iohn Math1e v1ce presrdent Arl1e Rodhe secretary and treasurer Margaret Anderson The holdlng of a concesston stand at the football and basketball games was a pleasure and a worry shared by all In February the envy of all under classmen we recerved our class rlngs Mr Carpenter our capable d1rector selected and d1rected the Iunror Class Play Th1s play entrtled Footloose played two perform ances one Fnday aftemoon November 19 and In the even1ng of the same date lmmed1ately after the play M1r1am Stauffer entertarned at her home for the cast d1rector and other per sons connected w1th the play Enabled by the gurdance of our competent class adv1sor M1ss Iuamta Schofreld we came to the crown1ng act1v1ty of the year the Iunxor Senlor Banquet and the Prom The theme and decoratrons for th1s gala affa1r were those pertammg to a French outdoor Cafe called Ccde de La Paree Ray Shank and hrs orchestra furnished the musxc After the prom we breakfasted at the BIIGI' H111 Country Club And so wrth the tak1ng of semester tests another year of hxgh school was f1n1shed before we real1zed 1t We are now senrors looklng more and more 1nto our fu-tures As senrors we are a large class of forty frve Several have fallen by the waysrde Iuamta Sutherland Allce McCoy Mary Sm1th and Iack Rottman Class offlcers for th1s last and lmportant year are presldent Robert Huston vrce presrdent Gary Hall secre tary and treasurer Evelyn Calame Senlor class advrsor IS Walter Regula The annual Home comrng Game and Dance was sponsored by the semor class Our l-lomecommg Queen was Glorla Krrkpatrlck and her sen1or attendants were Sue Roberts and Esther Farr Each year our school partrcrpates 1n tlre Prrnce of Peace Contest Th1s year a part1c1pant from our class Ela1ne Egger won the county declamat1on con test The ed1tor1n chref of our annual was Robert Huston and the asslstant edltor was M1r1am Stauffer On Apr1l 21 under the d1rec tion of Mr Warren Thomas our class presented our class play One Foot In Heaven.
