. , r rg' A :IT K fq2247 j,,.:l::jl,-l 1 ofw'!-wir . 'A W As our period of enlistment at Milford Township High School nears its end, we pause for awhile and reflect on the four short years we have spent together. As green enlistees we entered the ranks of Milford Township High School in the fall of l938 with fifty-eight members in our division. After initiu ation we got in the full of swing of the various activities. Our officers were: President, Arthur Waltersg Vice-President, George Fanningg Secretary, Jean Callahang Treasurer, Arlene Carterg with advisers Mr. Lathrop and Mr- Werner. Members of the Student Council, which was organized for the first time this year, were Kenneth Harness, Marilynn Haines, and the class Presi- dent, Arthur Walters. It was this year that the Junior Frolic was originated. An award was to be given to the winning stunt--these were put on by various classes. we are proud to say that although we were considered recruits, our stunt, nTelevision Comes to Milford,u was voted the winner. This entitled us to have our class year inscribed on the placque. The eighth grade visitation day when the eighth graders from the grade schools in our district visit and are entertained was also originated this year. It proved to be a great guide to all fresh recruits the next year, because they felt more at home upon entering high school. All too soon our recruit days were over and after a short vacation we entered high school again, this time as Privates, with fifty-three members. A change of officers was noted this year when Melvin Weyand, who transferred from Onarga Military Academy, was chosen Presidentg Arlene Carter, Vice- Presidentg Marilynn Haines, Secretary-Treasurer. Our advisers were Miss Brainard and Mr. Brown. Student Council members were Jean Callahan, Ralph Weber, and Melvin Weyand. Again our dramatic abilities found expression and we were doubly proud when the stunt uSchool Dazeu was chosen first in competition for recognition on the placque. The one great problem confronting us when promoted to the rank of Sargeant was the Junior-Senior Prom to be given in the spring. Under'HB leadership of: Shirley Newlin as President: Noah Hickman, Vice-President: Evelyn Hofoling, Secretary-Treasurer: Student Council Members Kenneth
