During each deployment. OS Divi- sion is augmented by personnel from various Naval Security Group sites throughout the Western Pacific. While underway. OS Division provides Special Intelli- gence Communications support to l 4IDWAY and em- barked staff commands using the Tactical Intelligence Communications Subsystem (TACINTEL) and the Cryptologic Combat Support Console System to pro- cess in excess of 2500 messages per day. In addition. Signal Security (SIGSEC) support is provided to the Battle Group by personnel who continually monitor Bat- tle Group communications. Communications Security (COMSEC) and Telephone Security (TELSEC) briefings are also provided by OS Division personnel on a con- tinuing basis to all elements of the Battle Group. V: i 17
