Midland was never pressed and did not have to punt once. The Bull- dogs sported an air-tight defense and a fast opening of- fense. The score was 20-0 at the half and Coach Milam used his substitutes freely throughout the rest of the game, Scorers for Midland were Dunny Goode, Bob Cole, and Bob Drake, who scored two. BROWNFIELD The smartly coached and alert Bulldogs racked up their second win of the season beating the Brownfield Cubs in Brownfield 19-0. Midland started slow but fin- ally came to life in the last seconds of the first quarter and scored on a set-up pass from quarterback Bob Cole to fleet wingback Dunny Goode and then an end- around by Goode. Center Jimmy Edwards intercepted a Cub pass and raced to the four yard line before he was downed. Cole scored from there. Midland intercepted six Brownfield passes. Hinton, charged over from the three yard line for the first score. Midland came right back with a 65 yard drive to paydirt. Bob Cole and Bob Drake advanced the ball, and Drake flashed over from the twenty. Tailback Cole passed to fleet-foot- ed Dunny Goode for the next score. Then Cole passed to Goode for the extra point.
