One ol' the main highlights this year was a hand banquet. lie sid:s the band students, various school officials and other musicians of the town attended. The hand marched at the Ddessa Fat Stock Show where they gave an excellent performance. The Midland lligh Band was given the honor of leading the Army Day Parade in Midland. Several ol' the students ol' the hand organized a dance orchestra, This worls has proved that they are many students in the hand with prolessional ahility. Vdith several new ideas lor special marching maneuvers. the hand entered the cori- test at Kermit. Texas. on April 25th and Ztith, BAND M. A. T .31 t' has proved again this year his efficiency. The students in the M ' I' i, high school hand under his direction have become better and T., if hetter concert players. as well as marchers. Also there are many 2 as students who have become soloists under his direction. This year for the first time practically the entire band was , Q- as ahle to have a band class at the same period during school. Al- though this is the first year that this has been possible, everyone has noticed the improvement of the band. is., IZDNA IZARI, LINISBIZRRY Drum ma-jor for two years. lidna lfarl has given good perform- ances at every appearance of the band. She is very good at twirl- ing a lighted baton. having studied under Major Sincock in California.

Armstrong has worked extra hard with the heginner and iunior bands. As a result ol' this. the high school band now has a large suhstitute squad. 'lhis year for the lirst time ths .junior hand has uniforms. They have paraclecl several times anti have appeared in concerts.
