VARSITY FOOTBALL A hard fighting, inexperienced Midland Chemic eleven got off to a slow start by losing, 40-7, to a fine Bay City Central team. Midland came back the following week to lose a heart-breaker to Alpena, 13- 12. Owosso, who had dropped from the Saginaw Valley League, outclass- ed the hard fighting Chemic eleven by 33-7. The Homecoming game was lost to Bay City Handy, Z1-19. After losing the four first games the Kuickmen battled stubbornly, but lost to Saginawl-ligh, 13-0. Mid- land fianlly hit the victory trail, de- feating Grand Rapids Creston 19-0. The Chemics were successful in beating Hamtramck, Z6-6. Grand Rapids Central abruptly ended the the short victory streak by defeating Midland 7-6. The Chemics ended on a high note by defeating a highly rated Saginaw Arthur Hill team, 8- 6.
