CLASS HISTORY Given a cordial welc ome by those who were to guide us into a life we had never before experienced, we began the first long mile of our high school educational voyage four long years ago. It was they who taught us to develop incentiveg not to look for the gold at the foot of the rainbow, but rather to search for the knowledge, truth, and self sacrifice that would make our journey into real life much easier. Although the persistent trials and tribulations of our first year were sometimes dis- couraging, they were not impossible to ove rc ome for they slowed our progress for a short time only. While striving to set examples for others our cla ss developed a spirit of cooperation and confidence in order that we might reach our ultimate goal with the proper attitude. As we entered our second year of high school, the energy exerted by each of us displayed a more serious attitude toward advancement and the ability to get a keener insight into the future. This was also a victorious year for us in other ways. We attain- ed prominence in athletics and won the Basketball Championship in the B Division of the Wiregrass League in which several of our boys played. When we returned the following year as Juniors the fact that our goal was nearer strengthened the ties of frie ndship among our classmates. This year was filled with many exciting moments as well as hard work. We presented the Junior Play by the name of Mama's Baby Boy , and gave the seniors a banquet in the gymnasium. Returning to school the last time for our Senior year, we realized that we were just Beginning not finishing our education. We re al i ze d that some of us have attained complimentary records, but none of us can do greater things than those which are in our hearts to do. As a last gesture of gr atitude to those who have guided us in our high school life we express our sincereappre cia tion and we can only hope that the future will be as happy and inspiring to the ones from whom we depart. We wish them success and may the spirit of friendship and cooperation make Midland City High School greater than ever. Michael Woodham Historian
