Concert Bands The M.H.S. S. Concert Band is what could be called the voice of Middletown South. Un- der the direction of Joseph Lawlor, the band once again gave us their all by adding a little music to our year. In December's Holiday Concert they played a medley of songs to put us in the holi- day spirit. Other performances included the annual Spring and Soloist Concerts and in Canada at Niagara Falls. ln autumn they are in the fomi of the Marching Band and smaller gorups of players make up the Pep Band and Jazz Band. Band members are some of the rowdiest and spirited students in the school, a feeling that rowses enthusiasm in the whole ofthe student body when they play at pep rallies. it I 'N SLS. All year long we have to work hard, but at the same time have fun. The 1980 school choir consists of 45 members. In the course of the year the choir presents a winter and a spring concert. Furthermore, they go from school to school the graduation and following with initiation for Honor Society. The choir was also honored by being asked to sing at the annual tree lighting ceremony.
