We will develop all these things it will though first start with attitude. -Ed Bechtel he Middletown H.S. South Wrestling team finished their season with a record of 6-11. Coached by Ed Bechtel, the team was led by Seniors Rick Lovato, Jon Phipps, Joe Wonesh, John Daly, Mike Bush and Jim Sisolak. Red Bank Catholic, Matawani, Rumson, Howell, C.B.A. and Monmouth Regional all fell victim to the Eagle grap- plers. The Eagles most impressive vic- tory came in a 38-14 thrashing of Mon- mouth Regional. This yearis team also featured a State Champion, Rick Lovato won the State Championship in the 188 pound weight class. The championship added to his impressive list of titles which includes his Championship in the Regionals, Dis- tricts and both the Middletown South toumament and the Neptune Christmas tournament. Another impressive performance was turned in by Joe Wonesh as he wrestled his way to a second place finish in the Districts. John Daly was also out- standing as he also won first place in the Middletown South tournament. OPPOSITE PAGE - Big Picture - Capt. Rick Lovato is about to record a take down.
