Homecoming Game The day every student waits for, the day we return to the mother ship, we show our indepen- dence from Middletown North. On November 22, 1979, Thanksgiving, we showed overwhelm- ing support for our great football team in in- numerable ways. Balloons were released, screams were heard, claps, boos, and pom-pons waved. But despite all of this, we lost to Mid- dletown North with a score of 21 to 10. Cries of anguish were heard amongst the Northemer's homs and joyous yelps, ascars flooded the long driveway of South. xx i Student Govemment Responsible for so many of the special events this and every year at South is the Stu- dent Government. The group is made up of the Student Council and the Junior and Senior Executive Boards. The Senior Exec. with President, Laureen Langan and Vice President, Marianne Fusco, has been hard at work to make this year ex- ceptional for the senior class. From refresh- ment sales at games to flea markets, benefit dances to the Frolics, this class has worked hard to make 1980's Senior Ball a success. The activities of the Junior Exec. headed by President Kate McGuire and Vice Pres. Kathy Shenko, have been aimed at more student participation in activities and reducing the cost of the prom bids. This year they helped give us the Powderpuff Game, Almost Anything Goes lWent?l, the Student-Faculty Basketball Game, the Fashion Show, and the Junior Prom. The main interests of this year's Student Council has been the Homecoming activities. Presiding officers are: Vinnie Brand, Presi- dentg Pam Lilley, West House Vice Pres.g and Kathy Corsaky, East House Vice Pres.
