The girls should be proud of their ac- complishments. They put Middletown South Field Hockey on the map. Pam Tanis iddletown South Field Hockey team came of age this year. The team finished with a record of 10-7-2. The girls got strong goal tending from Darlene Maxson who recorded 8 shutouts. This season the team scored thirty goals and gave up only 12. The team M.V.P. was senior Patty Camorote who had 6 goals and 1 assist. Jane Zarouni led the team in scoring 11 goals and 3 assists. Jane Zarouni and Nancy Schoepf were named to the Asbury Park Press 2nd team. Patti Camorote, Darlene Maxon and Kati DiScullio were named to the third team. The victories included a 4-0 wipeout of Henry Hudson, and a 2-1 victory over Franklin Township in the state playoffs. After defeating Franklin, the team lost a hard fought match to Watchung Hills by a score of 1-0. The team showed a lot of class over the course of the season and they stayed close in every match.
