G rman Club tx P N P F7 The German Club had a great year, as always. They started out with a sumptuous feast at Frausie's. As usual, there were many bruised shins and aching bodies as a result of their at- tempts at soccer, which were accompanied by a surprise attack by the sisters of the stick l The club sponsored two dances, one for Halloween and the other for Valentine's Day. Going along with this theme, their Valentines flower sale stirred many a ro- mance. This year, Germany was brought close to home when German students participated in an exchange program. In the winter months, Ballweg improved a little on cross-country skis, but Moubry regressed. And then there was the major activity . . . EATING! Who can forget those fabulous gummi bears? French Club was really into a lot this year. There was the pic- nic, a la rancaise with cheese, bread, and grape juice. Who can forget the famous ugormet cuisine bake sales, including a new twist of yogurt and bagels? There was a slide show of Tour de Bretagne on bicycles with a side trip to Paris. How about the annual folk festival in Milwaukee? Of course, the lan- guage teachers got disoriented in the crowds. but loyal students came to the rescue. Future plans include a ski trip. Since French Club can't afford the Alps, they'll have to substitute Blackhawk. Moneymaking activities such bake sales, a T-shirt sale, and a candy sale highlighted Spanish Club's year. The money was used for the annual foreign language club Christmas party. Re- member those exciting prizes picked out by the club advisors? There were socks! And flashlights! And socks! And flashlights! And even roin ponchosll To celebrate spring, Spanish Club will eat out at a Mexican or Spanish restaurant. Keep your eyes open for those cute waiters! To top it off, two visitors, one from Argentina, and the other from Spain, came to show slides and speak about Spanish-speaking countries.
