The Middleton Girls' Tennis Team was a young but spirited team and ended with a 316 record which reflected their inexperience, but not their enthusiasm. The IV team had a record of 6-3 even though eight of the nine players were new to the team. The leading Varsity winner was Tami Link, who also won the Most Valuable Player award. Marcia Keeney recorded the second most wins, and on IV, Cathy Ziegler, winner of the Most Improved award, posted the most wins, with Dana Brink and Iody Duesler close behind. The winner of the sportsmanship award was captain Peggy Smith. All in all, coaches Ruth Marion and Tad Dunn were pleased with the MHS Netters' season.
