FROSH INTRODUCED TO UNIVERSITY LIFE This is the eve before the tempest for everybody. It begins with the orientation marathon and all of the do ' s and don ' ts anticipated for the year ahead pass in panoramic review. But this isn ' t so bad since students, in general, are conditioned to thirty minute television sequences, including commercials, and shortly thereafter tune-out and think of more fascinating things. The lessons learned later are more difficult, but this is Freshmen Week. Talent Night and the President ' s Reception— and lurking ominously in the early hours of the next day is the first class. Barefoot and snaggle tooth . . . freshmen bring fresh, new talent to the campus.

Priscilla Palmer in action! Car Smash provides relief from frustrations. The University is on its way. The football team never looked better nor the campus more beautiful. School spirit starts with a low rumble and bursts forth into a wild crescendo. For those few who may have developed emotional problems early, there ' s always the therapy of the battered old jalopy down near the Union Building. Sledgehammer blows can make one forget that early little test or the tiff with the loved one.
