DIRECTOR OF PUBLICATIONS Director of student publications, member of the Tennessee Bar, experienced newspaper man, professor of business law and journalism, Sunday School teacher, contact man with high school seniors, these are occupations engaged in by Mr. Sloan, a man MTSC is dependent upon. If your name ap- peared in a home town publication this year, Mr. Sloan is probably the person responsible. Grades! Who needs ' em ' Mr. Sloan — Relaxing? BURSAR Mr. Jimmy Jackson, bursar, and Mr. T. B. Woodmore, assistant bursar, take care of the school finance, student fees, and paychecks. To be sure — the money is handled with care so that no financial errors occur in the functioning of MTSC. This is a crowded office in the fall during registration when students gather here to pay their fees. Members of the college faculty and employees can be seen at the bursar ' s window at the end of every month. There ' s just nothing like a paycheck! 7 DIRECTOR OF FIELD SERVICES Robert Abernathy, always ready with a quick smile and a joke, charms high school students all over the state and encourages them to come to MTSC. His broad experi- ence as an educator and his friendly extro- version make him a favorite good-will am- bassador throughout the college. No matter what you want to do upon graduation Mr. Abernathy will always know of a position suitable for you, in your major field. AUXILIARY SERVICES Library The library, containing more than 65,000 volumes, is the center for research, reading, quiet thought and study. Here also a num- ber of students find em- ployment to help them finance their college career- Reading rooms and other facilities and equipment are provided for the con- venience of the student.
