The former State Commissioner of Agriculture has proven himself to be one of the most efficient ad- ministrators in our state. On top of all of the duties at the state capitol, he still finds time to be active in the Methodist Church and the Scottish Rite Masons. The Ell- ington ' s son, John Earl, graduated from MTSC a few years ago and their daughter, Ann, is presently an MTSC co-ed. We are grateful to Governor Ellington for his help in shaping our school into the fine educa- tional institution it is today. 24

PRESIDENT Dr. Quill E. Cope ' s third year at MTSC brings with its increasing success more and more prestige to the college. Dr. Cope received, his B.S. degree from TPI in 1933. The M.A. and M.Ed, degrees he earned from Peabody in 1936 and 1949 respectively. He received the Ed. D. degree from New York University in 1951. At the present time plans are being drawn for the addition of still more struc- tures and the subsequent remodeling of existing facilities. Under the leadership and guidance of Dr. Cope, MTSC looks forward to continuing years of growth and pros- perity. President Quill E. Cope 9 i 1 7 f
