Student Government ASSOCIATED STUDENT BODY President, Kent Stockton Nearly 2,500 students belong to the Associated Student Body— and it is the officers ' duty to voice the desires of the entire student body and act in the students ' interest. Each spring the next year ' s ASB of ficers are elected, and good leadership qualities are initial requirements. This year ' s ASB chose wisely when they elected Kent Stockton and Judy Patterson to lead them. Library A modern, three-level building is the newest pride of the cam- pus. It is the Andrew L. Todd Library and secures a systematic array of more than 64,000 books, periodicals, and news- papers. Along with several reading rooms and an adequate stack area, the building con- tains a projection room, lecture room, faculty lounge, Library Service Department, Regional Library, Tennessee Room, and curriculum laboratory. Miss Virginia Wilkinson, Miss Catherine Clark, Miss Sarah Moore, Mrs. Layde Brown. Regional Library Middle Tennessee State College is the center of one of the re- gional library divisions. It is located in the basement of the college library, but it steps for- ward in offering library services to both urban and rural centers in Tennessee. Two book-mobiles operate from the college, de- livering materials to stations located over a seven county area served in this region. STUDENT GOVERNMENT Congress is the legislative branch of student govern- ment. It is composed of four seniors, four juniors, three sophomores, and two freshmen. Congressmen meet twice each month and work at the polls dur- ing student elections. Members cannot, however, campaign during any elec- tion without first resigning their Congressional posi- tion. Members are appointed by the ASB president and ap- proved by a unanimous vote of Congress. Two seniors, one of which serves as chief justice, two juniors, and one sopho- I more constitute the court.
