Directed by Mr. Joseph Smith, the marching and pep bands are admired collections of MTSC talent. Other organizations of the music department are the Sacred Harp Singers, chorus, orchestra, organ guild, Concert Band, Women ' s Trio, Men ' s Quartet, String Ensemble, Saunderian Society, and Pi Mu Sigma. Mathematics In addition to a four-year mathematics program, this department is proud of its strong pre-engineering course as well as classes in surveying, methods of teaching math, and courses especially designed for busi- ness majors. Voorhies heads the local department for prospective rocket experts, architects, and engineers. The Industrial Arts Department is one of the best equipped in this area, having six unit shops and a drawing studio with thousands of dollars worth of equipment.
