....l?a.,.,,..-.- coral BASKETBXXLL Basketball practice began soon after school started. Eighteen boys came out for practice regularly, and the team was chosen from four letter men and six experienced men. Training began immed ly in order that we might be in good practice for our first game, which was played at Bronaugh, October l5. This game resulted in a victory bysa score of 2Oe26. f Two weeks later we defeated Richards on our own court. James iate- Cox and Vernon Pryor played very commendably these first two games. The next game was played on November third with Sheldon and resulted in another victory for the home team. Nine more conference games followed and we entered the Schell ' o City Tournament on November 8, and played Sheldon and were de- feated. - 4 The county tournament was held on February lst, 2nd, and 5rd. Metz entered and played their first game with Bronaugh and lost by only a few points. The next game was played with.Richards and this ended in another defeat for the home team. We were eliminated however, luck was against us since one of our best players was un- .able to be in the game. A 'K Next year our team will be composed of nine experienced men, but will be decreased by the loss of James Cox, our senior player, Even though our team met defeat several timegg tha ggggqm gum ed sugoqssfully, and we were given immeasureable credit fgr having a team whigh displayed good sportsmanship in every game, 3 -1 X. ff' .f1:94 -.H 'z-,,..' .
