qi! QUEEN SHIRLEY HOSHOR AND HER COURT omecoming Lots of fun for everyone was true of the 1952 MTHS homecoming. Old and young alike were welcome to join in on the happy festivities and to keep memories of gay old times. Homecoming began with the assembly on the afternoon of hobo day, October 17. Everyone, dressed as MTHS hobos, met in the auditorium. The first thing on the program was the announcement of the homecoming queen, Shirley Hoshor, by the football captain, Anton Engst. Following the announcement of the Queen were well-planned skits given by every organization and class. After the skits were presented a hobo court was chosen from the best-dressed hobos. Reigning over it were Queen Lula Mae Fandel and King Steve Stampe r. A parade in the streets of Metamora came after the assembly. The band led the parade and following were: the football players riding the fire engineg the Queen and her court riding in a convertibleg a float reminding people to voteg decorated carsg and hobos everywhere. After the parade a pep rally was held which concluded hobo day festivities. 34

Library procedures are different because of the new physical condition and the new schedule for study rooms. Tables in the last half of the room seat 30 students who check in with their study room teachers for one period or an alternating schedule. It is necessary for a student to use the card catalog and fill out call slips before checking out books. The permanent reference books are in the south section of the reading room. Current magazines are easily accessible to the casual reader, and a reserve section is also in operation. Librarians are chosen on the basis of scholarship, integrity, accuracy, and inte rest in books. Miss Helton is in charge of the library and has twenty-five librarians. Compliments of THE.
