The FHA began the year with an installation tea on September 30th. We united with the FFA on October 21 for a party of relays and dancing. A potluck was held on January 22, to which the girls' families were invited. The program consisted of local talent and a style show. A chili supper was held on February 3, and a slumber party on March 6. The officers of FHA were as followsg President, Joanne Welteg vice-president, Marcella Grebnerg secretary, Loretta Martin: treasurer, Linda Kerng song leader, Juanita Bachmang reporter, Virginia Huserg parliamentarian. Officers elected for the year were Jack Fries, President, Robert Mason, Vice-Presidentg Ernest Smiley, Secretary-Treasurer. Our first event was sponsoring the Hazel Walker Arkansas Travelers, who were defeated by the home team. Hazel's Travelers are composed of girls who have outstanding ability. The M Club was instrumental in getting the new trophy case built and it has been placed in the gymnasium. Our sponsors were: Coach Walter Laitas, and Coach Roy Larson. Metamora Chapter, F F A, had their annual informaliinitiation the first week of school, taking in 16 Freshmen as Greenhands, making a total of 45 members, the largest number since the chapter has been organized. Officers for the year werezpresident, Christie Barrowg vice president, Gary Harrisong secretary, Walter Christy treasurer, Victor Winchellg reporter, Richard Bohlanderg and sentinel Anthony Kiesewetterg advisor Mr. Lawrence L. Jones. .Tunior officers were also elected to serve in place of regular officers when needed. Ag. classes were held in the new shop and class room for the first time this year, the Ag. Il and Ag. III classes doing much of the work in building cabinets tool panels, and getting the shop in order.
