Officers elected for the year were Jack Fries, President, Robert Mason, Vice-Presidentg Ernest Smiley, Secretary-Treasurer. Our first event was sponsoring the Hazel Walker Arkansas Travelers, who were defeated by the home team. Hazel's Travelers are composed of girls who have outstanding ability. The M Club was instrumental in getting the new trophy case built and it has been placed in the gymnasium. Our sponsors were: Coach Walter Laitas, and Coach Roy Larson. Hausam. g,4.,4 The Girls' Athletic Association opened their social activities of the year with the installation of officers who Were: President, .Tulie Engel, Vice President, Florence Grebnerg Secretary, Charlene Wagnerg Treasurer, Shirley Hoshorg Reporter, .Tanet Grebnerg and Song Leader, Joanwernsman. The advisor was Miss Dotlich. Early in the month of October a group of girls representing Metamora attended the annual fall play day, which was held at Morton. The GAA again sponsored the first all-school party of the year, which they called the Fall Round-up. Initiation of the new members took place on October ZZ. One of the major events of the year was the second annual Sno-Ball Dance, which was held on January 17. The GAA did a quick change from the formal theme to the hillbilly theme in the torm of the Sadie Hawkins Dance held in February. In April the GAA held several Women's Nights Out, which proved to be fun for all. The year was brought to a conclusion with the annual review and award banquet in May. The FHA began the year with an installation tea on September 30th. We united with the FFA on October 21 for a party of relays and dancing. A potluck was held on January 22, to which the girls' families were invited. The program consisted of local talent and a style show. A chili supper was held on February 3, and a slumber party on March 6.
