Scherrz, J. Ralser. ABSENT: B. Hines. laanidk This year's Spanish Club was organized at the end of October. We had twelve members. The officers for the year were President, Margie Kiesewetterg vice- president, Janie Lancasterg secretary-treasurer, Linda Kerng and reporter, .Tack Fries. Our Advisor for the first semester was Miss Corey and for the second semester was Miss Morrisey. The Spanish Club met every other Tuesday. Adams. .glluclenf Counci This year the student council set up two important systems for MTHS. One of them was the monitor system which is now in use and the other one was the meth- od of selecting cheerleaders. Student council made money this year by selling candy at noon and after school. With this money they bought a sign with a light on it that flickers off and on to attract the attention of the students. There are different adages and a new one was put up every week. This year it was again the duty of the student council to keep order in the hot lunch line. They had volley ball at noon for recreation. The officerswere:Georgie Mae Doak, Presidentg Herbert Boken, Vice-President Coletta Grebner, Secretary, and Sylvia Neumann, Treasurer. The advisors for student council were Mr. Brown and Mr. Etaugh. Hausam. g,4.,4 The Girls' Athletic Association opened their social activities of the year with the installation of officers who Were: President, .Tulie Engel, Vice President, Florence Grebnerg Secretary, Charlene Wagnerg Treasurer, Shirley Hoshorg Reporter, .Tanet Grebnerg and Song Leader, Joanwernsman. The advisor was Miss Dotlich. Early in the month of October a group of girls representing Metamora attended the annual fall play day, which was held at Morton. The GAA again sponsored the first all-school party of the year, which they called the Fall Round-up. Initiation of the new members took place on October ZZ. One of the major events of the year was the second annual Sno-Ball Dance, which was held on January 17. The GAA did a quick change from the formal theme to the hillbilly theme in the torm of the Sadie Hawkins Dance held in February. In April the GAA held several Women's Nights Out, which proved to be fun for all. The year was brought to a conclusion with the annual review and award banquet in May.
