Elk Foreword WV In beginning this foreword, the editors would like to express their appreciation to their fellow staff members and most especially to their sponsor for making this book possible. The theme for the 1969 Mesquite-O is the various colors of school life. Colors can reflect feelings, and there are many mixed feelings toward school life. These emotions differ with each individual. Some aspects of school are fun and filled with happiness, while others are difficult and consist of sadness. However, the years one spends as a student would not have richness if there wasn,t a combination of work and play, joy and sorrow. The colors chosen for the division pages are in keeping with how we feel about these components of this yearbook. We hope that they add to your enjoyment in reliving some of the moments of the past year that we have captured in the following pages. The Editors We Dedicate The 1969 Mesquite-U to Mrs. Sue Braden As head of Mesquite High School's ever-improving and ever-expanding drama department, Mrs. Braden has had a busy and, at times, a difficult joh. And she has been in charge of staging a production in the fall and in the spring, as well as a children,s theatre production each year. All of this work seems to only increase her enjoyment and her skill in direction and instruction. Her experience, knowledge, and under- standing of drama has truly been an inspiration to the drama students of MHS. Moreover, her many outstanding productions have provided enjoyment for students and for the community as a whole.
